Much of the construction is complete with the some finishing touches to the landscaping and course in the works.

In September 2014, Lance Byrns of Houston, TX, bought the Newberry Country Club with a dream to restore it. Lance's vision will bring the clubhouse and course beyond the pristine reputation it has been known for since 1927. As construction and renovations progress, the Newberry Country Club is sure to be Northern Michigan’s Premier golf destination spot. He has brought on Mike Husby Design to renovate the golf course, with 50 percent of the course already completed in the fall of 2013. Mike will be back to finish the renovations in the 2014 year with minimal impact on course play.

The clubhouse will have a new look to it as well, with the help of the UPEA out of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, designing a state of the art building for all to enjoy year-round. Price Construction out of Newberry, MI is leading the way for the construction of the new facility. Don and his crew have worked diligently throughout the 2013-14 winter season to bring the clubhouse vision to a reality.
